About

I have always had a habit of thinking about things long after they have happened. A conversation will end, the day will move on, everyone else will sleep, and somehow my brain will decide that 1:47 a.m. is the perfect time to review the evidence.

Once, I spent an entire Tuesday composing the perfect reply to a text message. I considered the wording, the timing, the punctuation, the possible meanings, and probably several meanings that were never there in the first place. After all that, I sent, “lol yeah.”

There are probably more efficient ways to live.

I have never found them.

Maybe that is why I pay attention to the little things. The plans that make perfect sense until Monday arrives. The promises we make to ourselves and quietly renegotiate by Wednesday. The things people say they do for one reason when, if we are being honest, there is usually another. Somewhere in all of that is something worth noticing. Sometimes it is funny. Sometimes it is not. Usually, annoyingly, it is both.

So that is what this is.

I write about both.

Sometimes I get it right. Sometimes I delete everything and make tea.

This is no grand manifesto. No instructions for becoming your best self. Just a place to look at life closely, laugh when appropriate, and occasionally admit that the joke is on us.

Either way, It’s Fine.
